Who’s Going to Help You?

Now to the part that matters most, kind of…..who is going to help you with all these to do items? Well that is what the wedding party is for. Here are some of the things traditionally that the wedding party helps the bride/groom with.

The wedding party can help the couple with various wedding planning such as invitations, errands, reception projects, and more. The couple may seek advice from their wedding party in order to help make important wedding decisions like colors, attire to wear etc.

Members of the bridal party are often asked to wear certain attire (bridesmaids dresses or tuxedos) as requested by the couple to indicate their involvement in the ceremony. Acquire samples, vendors, or actually buying or getting the outfits in some instances may be delegated to the bridal party.

The wedding party helps the bride and groom get ready on the wedding day, calming their nerves and making them feel comfortable. Having backups for the bride/groom like tissues, secondary underwear, chapstick, as well as other emergency type items, just in case.

The wedding party typically takes formal photos with the couple either before the ceremony or during the cocktail hour for the couple’s wedding album.

Often, the wedding party is seated at special tables at the reception, either with the newly-married couple or close by.
The wedding party serves as a support system to the couple in their new marriage, encouraging their love and helping them see through even after the wedding day.

Sometimes, the wedding party will plan special events for the couples, such as bridal showers, bachelor or bachelorette parties, or even wedding night surprises.

Hopefully these pointers can help you delegate effectively to make planning your wedding much easier without any stress because of the help of your friends & family. Even though the final decision is yours for your big day remember those who are close to you would enjoy pitching in to make things easier on you. Remember pick those who you are used to working with often & have patience because they know you well. This is the best way to avoid adding any unnecessary layers of complication. Cheers to you & have a great wedding.
